The One With The Stupid Rain

We spent the entire weekend pruning, weeding, digging, planting, sweeping and watering (still don’t have a working sprinkler system) both the front yard and backyard. We also spent a good chunk of cash at Home Depot and Armstrongs to buy new plants for the yard. After all that- here are the results of our hard work:

{9am Saturday – before starting any yard work}

{5pm Sunday - after pruning, weeding and planting one new plant}
{7am Monday – heavy rain knocks down tree/our spirits}

Obviously there’s more to our yard then this one tree and planter, but it’s still so annoying to wake up to find one of our good trees lying on our lawn. Brad thinks we might be able to save it and replant it since the roots are still attached – which is funny, because he was so pessimistic about replanting the tiny lavender plant that’s now literally under the tree because he didn’t think it would grow successfully. (In a way, he’s right, since I imagine it would be difficult to grow when being crushed by a tree!)
